Swimming Pool.

Floating in my swimming pool
I cannot hear you when you call
The sounds are strange here underwater
And I float alone

Floating high above the hills
I’ve found a place where time stands still
Drifting under clear blue sky
Untroubled by the world

I swim, I tumble here and there
And levitate without a care
I’m weightless, unencumbered
By the ills of humankind

The sirens cannot reach me here
I’m far away from grief and fear
From pain and anguish and regret
The things that pull you down

The fires are raging far below
The darkness closes in, I know
But high up here
The crystal water sparkles in the light
